If you get information about events, shows, new shops, trips, etc. that would be of interest to our guild, please give Jean Wanchick the information for the newsletter.
February Meeting - February 8th
Program
We will be finishing the quilts we started last month. Remember to bring your completed blocks. If you were not at the January meeting you can bring 6 1/2” blocks and the strips . Bring your sewing machines back. We will use leftover strips for borders or binding and finish assembling the rows. We can still use donations of 4 yard pieces of fabrics for the backs (or we can sew several smaller cuts together). We need everyone’s help to finish the quilts.
Library
Janice Farmerie wants to remind everyone that we will be deciding whether to keep the library, auction them or donate them to a library. Give the issue some thought and be ready to vote on the 8th.

Member Bio—Eileen Milliken
Eileen started quilting in the fall of 2003. She learned to quilt by reading quilting books and talking to a few people who quilted. She’s taken two mystery quilt classes through the guild, and a paper piecing class from Harriet Mason. A Texas star class taught her a lot about “reverse sewing”. Eileen thinks paper piecing is fun.
She likes the easy kind of patterns. She hasn’t had much courage to try anything complicated. A co-worker made a cat quilt and convinced Eileen to start. Then Rose Graff invited her to a mystery quilt day in 2003. She learned a lot by attending that session.
Eileen’s stash has something of all colors, but has more fabrics in all shades of blue. She has made six rag flannel quilts and is currently working on a churn dash quilt for her family reunion.
Eileen retired in 2003 and sews whenever she has time between fixing up her house and enjoying her grandchildren. As a new quilter, Eileen feels that she can only get tips from others.
