February Program
Our February meeting will be a busy one.
First, bring the trading card you started making at the last meeting and any others that you made and want to trade.
Second, we will hold a Valentine Fat Quarter Lotto.
Bring one or more quilt shop -quality fat quarters. They are to be appropriate for a valentine quilt. These will be bundled into groups of 6-8. For each quarter turned in you receive one chance to win a bundle. Someday we hope the winners will bring a valentine quilt to show and tell.
Third, Claudia Furlan is going to show us how to make labels for our quilts. Bring a light box (if you have one), washed muslin at least 7” x 7”
(you can bring as much as you want), pigma pen any color or as many colors as you have/want, and masking tape.
Claudia also says if you have any books by Kim Churpa to bring them in.
Pigma pens can be purchased at Linda’s shop, art or craft stores. She recommends an 01 point. Pigma brushes are available also and if you have one you can bring it also.
Request from Judy Miller...
If you have any blue and/or yellow fabric left from the stars you made for her president’s quilt she would appreciate you sharing some pieces with her. Judy has decided to do an appliqued border on the quilt and needs fabrics that are in the stars to make it work best.
Postage Increase
Remember to update the postage on envelopes you have already given Jean OR make sure your envelopes have .39 stamps when you bring them in.
2006 Quilt Challenge
Make a greeting card quilt the size of a fat quarter, 18 x 22.
You may use any theme that would be an appropriate greeting, such as a birthday or holiday.
The quilt is to be completed and should have a sleeve so that you can use it as a wall hanging.
The challenge is due at the August picnic and a People's Choice Award will be given.
Personal Challenge
Don’t forget to sign up to have a some part of a UFO completed by the November meeting.
