January Program

For January's meeting we will be making artistic trading cards.  We will start them at the meeting, finish them at home and trade them at February's meeting. (Whoever brings a finished one in February will put it in a bag, and we'll just pick a bag to exchange them.)  These cards can follow a theme (Valentine's Day?) or just be fun.
  Here's the supply list to make a 3.5" x 2.5" trading card:
* Cotton Batting approx. 4"x5"  (or more to allow for mistakes or to make more than one)
* Fabric scraps (theme fabrics could work here)
* Fusible web
* Decorative threads, buttons, beads, trim
* Stamps and stamp pads if you have them
* Card stock or Timtex for the backing
* Basic sewing supplies including scissors, needles, thread, small rulers, rotary cutters and mats.
If a few people could bring irons and boards, that would be great!
Sewing machines are optional.  They probably won't be needed until the finishing part, which will be talked about at the meeting.
We will have to think outside the box, but I think we can have a lot of fun.  You might even find making these addictive!

  Also at January’s meeting:
*   If your address, phone or email has changed, please give changes to Jean.

*   Bring your mailing envelopes (remember that postage is going up to 39 cents—if you gave me envelopes already, just bring in the extra 2 cent stamps to add to your envelopes),
*   Bring your annual dues of $12 (a bargain at twice the price) put into an envelope with your name on it so Gale can keep the money straight
*   Bring an idea for your UFO to be done by November’s meeting

Long arm quilters:
At a recent meeting an idea was approved to create a list of long arm quilters.
We need names addresses and phone numbers of people you would recommend to all of us to quilt our quilts.  Please bring them to the meeting.  The following are what we have so far:

Rosemary Darraugh,  Clarksville-Mercer Rd. Mercer, PA 724-662-5038
Barb Shuck, 360 Latonka Dr. Mercer, PA 724-475-2979 and Cindy Beggs, Sandy Lake
Bev Strand,

Pumpkin Dip
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
