May Program
Shop Owners Night
WHAT: Six shop owners will bring their quilting fabrics and supplies for us to shop.
WHERE: New Wilmington Presbyterian Church, Market St. a block past the bank where our guild meets.
WHEN: Tuesday, May 9th.
7 p.m. to about 9 or so.
WHO: Anyone is welcome. Invite your friends and their friends to come and shop.
These shop owners go to a lot of trouble to transport items from their shops. I know they would appreciate our patronage.
Our members are needed to help the shop owners move their things into the church basement before the meeting and then out of the basement when it is all over.
The following people have signed up:
Set Up (be there about 5:45
p.m.):
Rose Lawton, Jane Armstrong, Mary Neitzel, Jean Wanchick, Claudia Furlan, Mary Ann Snyder, Lynda Bortz, Machelle Scott, Marilyn Nebel
Take down: Mary Morell, Dolores Romeo, Rose Spalla, Pepper McGarry, Alice Ann Flack, Judy Miller, Marilyn Michael, Janice Farmerie, Janet Runkle
More people will be needed to help out. Please consider coming early or staying a little later to help.
Welcome New Member
We are happy to welcome another new member, Cindy Graham to the guild.
Last month
Thanks to Rhonda Cavaliere for an entertaining and informative program on feed sacks and feed sack fabrics.
2006 Quilt Challenge
Make a greeting card quilt the size of a fat quarter, 18 x 22.
You may use any theme that would be an appropriate greeting, such as a birthday or holiday.
The quilt is to be completed and should have a sleeve so that you can use it as a wall hanging.
The challenge is due at the August picnic and a People's Choice Award will be given.
Personal Challenge
Don’t forget to sign up to have a some part of a UFO completed by the November meeting.

Focus On ...
We welcome seven new members to the guild. Stop and talk to them at the next meeting. Another new member is:
Norma Garrett
Norma has been quilting off and on for about eight years. She took a sampler class at the Quilting Bee and since has taught herself.
Her favorite patterns are primitives. Linda and Peggy have influenced her quilting the most.
While she has completed one double and one lap quilt, Norma has three in progress. She works part time at a gift shop and greenhouse so mostly quilts at night. Her tip to other quilters is “keep trying”.
WE NEED NEWS...
If anyone goes to a quilt show or purchases a new quilt book that they like, please give Jean some information about it. It can be put into the newsletter and shared with everyone.
