October Meeting
October 11 Program

The October meeting is going to be one in which we will be sewing.  Linda and Peggy are going to teach us a New Way to Make Flying Geese.   Actually, this pattern has a twist to it and the flying geese become a star.  (You can check out what the quilt block looks like if you go to www.unitednotions.com  -  it is the Moda website.  Go to Moda Fabrics and click on Free Patterns.  The pattern is A Night at the Symphony.
At the end of the evening we will raffle off the blocks.
Bring fabric (the equivalent of two fat quarters for each of three colors  -   medium blue, medium yellow and white on white (NO golds or navys).  As usual, please make sure the fabric is of good “quilt shop” quality and  pre-washed.
Also bring a rotary cutter and mat, pencil and ruler (an Eleanor Burns Flying Geese ruler or No Math ruler if you have them),  We will need some sewing machines and irons and ironing mats.  Perhaps carpoolers could work out who is bringing what.  The others of us...we’ll just have to guess which to bring.

We will also be selling some of the library books; so bring plenty of money.

Hostesses for October
Hostesses are needed for the October meeting.  So far, only Jan Wamboldt is signed up...if you can help, please give Jan a call.  If you haven’t taken a turn yet, October would be a good time to be a hostess.

                        Quilt Wisdom

One yard of fabric is like one cookie….never enough!

All fabric should be properly aged before use.

Dust bunnies are just quilt batts in progress.

My husband lets me buy all the fabric I can hide!

Sewing with a friend will keep you in stitches.

She who has the most fabric...isn’t sewing fast enough!
