Shaffer’s Countryside Quilting is a relatively new shop celebrating six years in business this September. Judy Shaffer, the shop owner, is a familiar face to most of us. She participates in Shop Owners Night and has presented programs at our guild various times.
Customer service, a priority with Judy, is easily felt upon entering the shop. In scanning the two rooms of fabric and looking at the sample quilts it’s apparent that Judy’s interior design background has been instrumental in her selections. Besides a wonderful color and design sense, her technical knowledge of fabrics, companies, and designers aids customers in making their selections.
The shop is full of wonderful fabrics not limited to, but including Moda, Thimbleberries, RJR, and 1840s, Civil War, 1930s and wool. There are books, patterns, and many notions including kits made up by Judy, classes and programs like block of the month and Log Cabin Club.
To celebrate her sixth year of business, Judy is having an Anniversary Sale from September 8th to 11th. During that time you can purchase 3 yards of fabric and receive the 4th yard free (half yard minimum cuts). She also will offer 20% off retail prices on notions, batting, kits, books, rulers, patterns and thread.
Her fall newsletter is about to be mailed with plans for fall classes and two new clubs in addition to the block of the month club. Judy participates in several Shop Hops but since she is so close to us it is easy to pop in to check out the new things that are always showing up in the shop. Shop hours are Wednesdays noon to 7, Thursday and Friday 10 to 5 and Saturday 10 to 3.
